You may be considering psychotherapy for yourself and you’re looking around to find someone you think can help you and with whom you feel comfortable. Here is a brief introduction to my work and my background. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice for over 35 years, I have assisted scores of adult women, men and couples gain understanding and mastery over psychological difficulties in order to live more purposeful and fulfilling lives.

I generally work in depth with people over several years, in the belief that significant change – the change that warrants the time and energy you invest in it – takes time and happens “slowly but surely”. I occasionally do shorter-term, problem-oriented therapy when it’sappropriate. My psychotherapy practice has included a focus on women and men who seek a more satisfying and fulfilling relationship to their work. I also see women and men struggling with depression, grief, life transition and relationship difficulties.

You’ll find more about my services and my approach under Frequently Asked Questions. Your decision to enter therapy with a particular therapist is an important one. The information you’ll find on this site, and on other psychotherapists’ sites, will provide useful facts – credentials, orientation, specialties, etc. – and will help you clarify what you want. But there’s also an intuitive element to the decision, how your gut reads the potential match.

I’m happy to have a brief phone conversation with you, and/or meet for an initial, mutual assessment. Feel free to leave a confidential voicemail message and I’ll return your call.
