Nina HamMy professional background includes a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from UC Berkeley .  I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and also a Board Certified Diplomat, a national certification of senior mental health clinicians.  I believe strongly in clinicians continuing to learn and receive supervision on their work.  For this reason I’ve maintained a rigorous program of continuing education, tapping the excellent psychoanalytically oriented professional organizations in the Bay Area.

In the mid-70’s, I co-founded the Women’s Therapy Center, a nonprofit women’s counseling and training organization in El Cerrito, CA that continues, 30 years later, to enjoy a fine reputation.   While a member of the faculty at WTC, I taught a series of courses on relational psychotherapy and on gender dynamics in psychotherapy.

In the late ‘90’s I got training and certification as a career coach.  This second career has allowed me to pursue in a more hands-on fashion my conviction that working well - wholeheartedly and successfully – marks an important psychological milestone for adults.   I conduct my coaching practice and my psychotherapy practice as separate entities.
